Our Panama Mission
For quite sometime, I had faithfully prayed and asked the Lord for an opportunity to minister to His people in other parts of the world and He granted my request. On Tuesday, February 27, 2007 the Lord favored me to have the most life changing experience I could have ever imagined. On that particular day, I journeyed to Col ón, Panamá, approximately twenty miles outside of Panamá City, Panamá. This seven day missionary journey also included Evangelist (Mother) Mary Chambers, Evangelist Josie Williams and Missionary Ann Glover. I received the invitation to go to Panamá from Evangelist Chambers, First Lady of the West District of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Jurisdiction. The purpose was to attend the Church of God In Christ, Inc. Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of Republic of Panamá Sagrada Convocaci ón 2007 held at House of Worship Church of God In Christ.
Upon arrival in Panamá, I immediately began to thank God for our safe journey and prepared myself to be used by God in ministry. We were met at the airport by the two of the most sweetest and hospitable saints I’ve ever met, Mother Donna Dawkins, National Supervisor, and Missionary Sharon.
The Theme for the Convocation was "The Value of the Cross." During the Convocation many opportunities were presented to us and we were blessed to deliver the Word on Wednesday, February 28th at the afternoon workshop session. The Message at the workshop session was "Victory In Jesus Because of the Cross." The Message at the Women’s Day evening service was "Remember Me – The story of Hannah." We attended the day sessions and evening services on Thursday, March 1st, which was Men’s Day. Friday, March 2nd we toured Col ón during the day and saw the needs of the community and the people. Friday evening we attended the Convocation Banquet where Evangelist Mary Chambers delivered a dynamic and encouraging word – "Seek Ye First the Kingdom of God." During portions of the day, we had an opportunity to meet and greet members of the community, both young and old, to witness and share the Word and love of God.
On Saturday, March 3rd, we were given a tour of the Panamá Canal and more of Col ón by the Pastor of House of Worship Church of God In Christ, Elder Ausabio Stewart. A business meeting was held with the Pastor to see how Janis Ruise Ministries could be of assistance to both the community and the church. It was expressed during that time that school supplies such as pens, pencils, pencil sharpeners, erasers, composition books and book bags are needed. Summer clothing is also an essential necessity. Pastor Stewart is a very devoted and faithful man of God who has a vision for the people in his congregation as well as the community at large. On Saturday evening we attended the Convocation Concert that featured many choirs, soloists and ensembles from the region. I was blessed to be asked to sing with the Mass Choir.
On Sunday, March 4th we were blessed to minister live on House of Worship’s Christian Radio Broadcast Station, MANNA 96.1 FM. The Message was "Learning How to Wait." During the Official Day we were once again blessed to sing the Sermonic Solo. On Monday, March 5th we departed Col ón, Panamá after a most blessed and memorable Missionary Journey that I shall never forget. It was again indeed an honor to return to Panama in 2008 to witness and experience another mighty move of God and to see and know that the Lord was continuously blessing His people. We were able once again to minister to the people of God in a workshop setting as well as in worship service.
I believe this is the commencement of a worldwide ministry for Janis Ruise Ministries. Many of you have made generous donations and as a result the people have been blessed. I invite you to help us continue to make a difference for the people at House of Worship Church of God In Christ and the community in Col ón, Panamá. However, our vision does not stop there. We truly believe that eventually, with your help, we can make a difference in the lives of many all over the world.
